Three Common Mistakes To Avoid When You Hire A Rubbish Bin

Spring is here, and now is the perfect time to clean up the house and garden waste around the property so your home is decluttered and clean before the busy months of summer arrive. As someone who is hiring a garbage bin for the first time because you want to have an epic spring clean, you are not aware that there are common mistakes made when arranging for rubbish removals to be done from your home. Here are the three most common mistakes made so you can avoid them happening to you.

Size Matters

When it comes to hiring a rubbish bin, size really does matter. On one hand, you want to make sure that you have a bin large enough for all of your rubbish, and you may be tempted to order a larger size than needed just to make sure there is plenty of space for your cleanup. But the problem with this idea is that the bin needs to be placed onto your property during delivery. If you hire a bin that is too big for your property and it intrudes onto council property such as the pavement, then you are going to get a visit from your local council. This could lead to you being given a fine. If you can't find a place on your property big enough to hold the bin, then talk to the council about getting a permit for street placement.

Restricted Rubbish

Once the bin has been delivered, you will be tempted to throw anything and everything into the bin before the bin is collected and taken away. However, there are some items which are not allowed to be thrown into the bin, and the rubbish removals company will refuse to take the bin back until you remove them. These items include paint cans, car batteries, tires and chemical products. Ask the hire company for a list of things that they do not accept in their bins.

Stack Strategically

Finally, to make the most of your bin, give a little forethought about what items are being loaded into the bin and the best order to put them in. The largest, heaviest items, for example, should be loaded into the bin first as they take up the most space. Once they are in place, you know how much room you have left for your other items.

Don't delay booking a garbage bin for collection as companies get very busy during spring. The sooner this chore is crossed off your spring cleaning list, the sooner you can relax and enjoy the warmer months.

About Me

Keeping Your Garbage Bins Clean

Hello! I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to my garbage bin blog. I live in a large house in the suburbs of Perth with my husband and our 3 kids. I run the house and I am in charge of organising the household chores. Last year, I noticed that the garbage bins in my yard were starting to smell very bad. In the heat of summer, it made being in the back garden very unpleasant. I contacted a garbage bin service who provided me with new bins. They also sent a contractor to my home once a month to clean the bins. I hope you enjoy my blog.
